Kismet is a fine rock band from the Netherlands. I really like "Empathy" — great instrumental rock song!
Update 2006-01-22: Oops, I mixed up two of their songs. "Empathy" is actually not instrumental rock, see the next song in this podcast for the instrumental song...

Have some fine, acoustic, lo-fi folk-rock from Jamie Barnes. Also listen to his other tunes, highly recommended!

The "Kitchen Cowboys" are a group of German musicians from Hamburg. They sing "songs of love and songs of pain, everywhere where you can find power sockets" (translation by me). "Someone, someday" is a great, mellow, acoustic song from them, English lyrics are available.
I asked them whether they want to release their songs under a Creative Commons license and they were kind enough to say yes! Thanks a lot guys!
